Subject : Arranging a mass-signature activities to ensure voting right of Bangladeshi foreign resident at central Shahid Minar, Dhaka on the following 15/11/2008 with the co-operation of IMA Research Foundation according to constitutional law.

It is the migrant's legal rights according to the constitution of Bangladesh. Last 36 years, migrants did not get any thing from government as well as political part; they had kept their mouth off on migrant interest even casting voter rights; political party did not show any interest in their election manifesto. Advocate Sultana Kamal- executive director of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) and former adviser of caretaker government expressed his views while a signature campaign launched on support of migrant voter rights at Central Shahid Minar at1.15 pm on. put her signature on support of migrant voter rights and strongly appealed to Bangladesh Government for immediate action and do inclusion of all 7.5 million Bangladeshi migrant so that they can caste their valuable vote for leader selection at their respective constituent.
Dr. C.R. Abrar- coordinator of RAMMRU expressed his views while he put his signature. Mr. Harun Al Rahsid who himself is a migrant worker in Malaysia and human right activist revealed that the constitution of Bangladesh gives the right to every citizen to vote -Citizen means a person who is citizen of Bangladesh according to the law relating to citizen. In addition, constitution also says- a citizen inside or outside the country wherever are will be considered as Bangladeshis and the All citizens are equal before law and are entitled to equal protection of law so voter rights is migrants rights indeed.
MIGRANT VOTER RIGHTS signature campaigned is opened at www.imabanglaesh.com and the campaigned now passed across the country. Mr.Syed Saiful Haque president and Mr. Anisur Rahman Khan is the general secretary of WARBE development foundation; Mr.Tofazzal Hossain, program officer of BRAC safe migration program, Zainal Abedin president and Al-Amin Noyon executive director of IMA Research Foundation along with many migrants across the country took part the signature campaign and did their solidarity. Joynal Abedin Joy chairman of IMA Research foundation presides the campaign.
